The purpose of the association is to establish, run and maintain a museum to represent the history of the Westwall, better known as "Siegfried Line" by western allied powers.
The purpose of the association is also to investigate the history of the Westwall, to build up, maintain and expand a Westwall Archive, as well as activities that serve the exploration, preservation and future use of the Westwall in its entirety.
With a view to the preservation and future use of the architectural remains of the former Westwall, which are subjected to nature and historical protection, the work of the Association and the presentation in the museum's rooms can, in individual cases, extend also to topics of nature and monument protection.
